Rwanda are not scared to face Zambia in their next Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualification round, says Coach Vincent Mashami.

The former Isonga, APR and Bugesera coach Mashami says that his charges are well aware of the task ahead of them but they are confident of pulling a good result on Saturday at the Kigali Stadium.

“We had enough training sessions together, and am quite positive that this team is in the right position physically and mentally to win in Zambia,”said Mashami.

“It is chance to play against big team like Zambia and we need to show that we are ready for the game. We know we are facing big team and we are ready for that.”

The Junior Wasps played out a 0-0 draw with Kenya two weeks ago, a result that ensured the Central African nation progress to the second round of the competition courtesy of the away goals rule as both sides had settled for a one-all draw during the first leg clash.

After the first-leg, Rwanda will head to Zambia for the return-leg slated for May 18 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

The winners from the second round will qualify for the February 24-March 10 U20 Africa Cup on Nations tournament in Niger.

Zambia, who are the defending champions, played two friendly matches where they posted grabbed goalless draw against Malawi last Friday and a 2-0 win over Swaziland on Monday.
