AFCON U17: SSFA President appoints committee to investigate disqualification from U17 AFCON

 

South Sudan Football Association(SSFA) President Lt.Gen Augustino Maduot has a formed a fact finding committee to investigate   the disqualification of their U17 mens team from  the ongoing U-17 Africa Cup of Nations being hosted by Algeria.

South Sudan were disqualified from the tourney for bringing with them five players who failed the MRI tests done by CAF upon arrival in Algeria. The disqulification meant  that Group C remained with  only 3 teams – Cameroon, Mali and Burkina Faso.

“In exercise conferred upon me in article 39 (d)  SSFA Statute 2012 amended 2021.I do hereby form a facts finding committee on the incidence of disqualification of the U17 national team “The letter by SSFA President Maduot read in part

The five-man committee has 10 days to submit their report with the term of reference being Fact-finding about disqualification,Administrative aspects,Technical aspects to be submitted to the President.

Among the members of the committee include Hon. Charles Ukech who is the chairman and members Hon.George Kosta, Ms.Anna Nyakuet, Dr.Salyi Lokaku and Mr.Gabriel Arop.

South Sudan U17  national team returned home last week after the humiliating disqualification.
