Gambia’s National U-20 Team Young Scorpions flew into Conakry on Friday morning after short training in Dakar where they had two training sessions hoping to make amends in the return leg match against Guinea in Sunday’s FIFA U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match in main Conakry Stadium.
The Young Scorpions will resume training in Conakry later this morning after their nab before they take to the main Conakry stadium today evening to feel the state of playing conditions on the main bowl.
The return league game is described as decisive and final for a quest to the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations spot in Zambia, 2017.
Gambia coach Omar Ceesay said before the team departure that he is optimistic of winning hence according to him, ‘ I am confident of my team.We will surely qualify to the tournament because we have quality to be in that tournament’. He appealed to Gambians to add more prayers for the team while ‘ the boys will do the rest on the pitch’.
A delegation of 20 players and 11 officials is accompanied by Gambia Football Federation Vice President Star Jallow.
