Ghana Football association has moved swiftly to allay fears of a fallout between Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and his deputy Andre Ayew ahead of their AFCON opening fixture.
The GFA slammed reports claiming that two were involved in an exchange of words over the captaincy of the squad which led to Al Ain striker and the nations all time goal scorer leaving camp.
“Promptly ignore false report that Asamoah Gyan has left Ghana camp at Africa Cup of Nations in a dispute with Andre Ayew,”
The GFA took to Twitter to assure the Black Stars faithful that squad is united and rearing to go ahead of tonights AFCON opening encounter against Uganda.
“All players resting for match against Uganda
after this evening’s prayers. The Black Stars are
united and focused.”
The Avram Grant Charges kickoff their quest for a continental crown today against Uganda Cranes at the Stade de Port Gentil at 19:00 EAT.
