Vincent Aboubakar scored the match-winning goal just at the half hour mark.

Cameroon’s only real glimpse at a goal in the first half arrived on the 10 minute mark when striker Oyongo Bitolo almost caught goalkeeper Munir El Kajouiin possession, but the Montreal player just about avoided embarrassment.

However, Bitolo suffered an injury just before the break and was replaced -Cameroon will hope the goalkeeper’s injury does not rule him out of the upcoming fixtures.

On the hour mark, Abubacar created the first clear chance of the match taht resulted into the goal when he burst through Morocco’s defence and the latter saw his shot deflected over the top from close range by Mokondjo.

Fifteen minutes later it was Morocco’s turn to miss out on a great opportunity after their forwars was caught in possession, buwas unable to direct his shot on target with Cameroon having been drawn off his line.

In the second stanza, the hosts enjoyed the majority of the ball possession, yet failed to double their lead as Herve Renard’s defence stood firm.

The Indomitable Lions are now sitting at in the first position on the table with three points and are the group’s joint leaders with Malawi on three points and one goal, who beat Comoros on the same day.

However they aotomatically qualify to the rinals as the hosts and both nations will resume their campaign next year in March when Cameroon visit Comoros while Morocco entertain Malawi at home.
