Harambee Stars’ Saturday opponents in the 2019 Afcon qualifiers Leone Stars have landed a three-year kit deal with Singaporean Sports Apparel Company Mafro.
The deal is worth $82,000. Mafro and the Sierra Leone Football Association will share the proceeds from the sale of replica jerseys and other merchandise.
“The agreed relationship will be one of mutual benefit with Mafro and SLFA engaging in profit sharing as contractually agreed of the selling of national team jerseys and merchandise,” a statement from the company states.
Mahmoud Gomda, Mafro Sports Director, underscored the important of sportsmen and women using quality sports products.
“As a company, we realize the importance of sportsmen and women using quality sports products. We are inspired to set our company so as to work with the finest professionals in the business and working with the SLFA is a fulfillment of some of our goals,” Gomda said.
Mafro is spreading its wings in Africa and in the past few weeks has penned two other deals with national sides.
Late last month, they signed a three-year technical sponsorship deal with the Football Kenya Federation worth $750,000 and a two-year contract with the Football Association of Zambia worth $400,000.
Mafro also sponsors Zambian Super League sides Nkana FC and Power Dynamos as well as the Zambia Cricket Association. They also have a presence in Ghana where they sponsor Ghana Cricket Association.
Harambee Stars are expected to don Mafro kit for the first time Saturday when they face the Leone Stars in Freetown.
