CAF Congress sitting in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday elected Kwesi Nyantaky and Almamy Kabele Camara to the all powerful newly formed FIFA Council.

Four candidates presented their candidate for the two slots reserved for Africa in the 36 member top most FIFA policy making organ.

They were; Ahmad (Madagascar),
Almamy Kabele Camara (Guinea),
Kwesi Nyantakyi (Ghana) and
Augustin Senghor (Senegal).

Kwesi, Ghana football association boss gunered 31 votes to edge Mr. Ahmed by a single vote while Kabele, CAF second vice president scooped the highest at 37. Senghor recieved 9 votes.

Their term will run until March 16 next year.

The 36-member FIFA Council will hold its first meeting in Zurich on October 13-14 as it replaces the tarnished 24-member executive committee.
