The Confederation of African Football (CAF)has echoed in support of Fifa’s call for unity and inclusion ahead of the the most prestigious football tournament the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
CAF are in solidarity with hosts Qatar who have alluded all attemptsto derail them especially unfair critism to organise a World cup that many analyst have predicted that will be amongst the best.
CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe asaid: “We recognize that football has over the years been an important tool for bringing together and uniting people from different races, language groups and religious backgrounds.
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ is an important global sporting event that brings together people from different countries and Continents for the development and celebration of football worldwide and the advancement of humanity.”he added
The World Cup is barely ten days away as players,teams and fans from across the World prepare to converge in Qatar from the 20th November 2022 to 19th December 2022 when the final will be played.
