African champions Algeria were held to a 1-1 draw by the Democratic Republic of Congo in Blida on Thursday.
The North African side were ahead inside six minutes after a goal from Islam Slimani, his second in as many games after also netting in the 1-0 win over Benin last month.
But the visitors were level in the first half as Cedric Bakambu netted, with neither side able to find a winning goal.
Meanwhile, Congo-Brazzaville also played to a 1-1 draw, this time in Thailand.
The hosts went 1-0 up after a goal from Teerasil Dangda on 35 minutes, but Makouta equalized early in the second period.
