After almost two years, the Blantyre derby, which features Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers, returns to the renovated Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Saturday.

The two giants face in the 64th Super League derby which promises a lot of thrills.

Bullets  lead the 16-team log table with 45 points from 19 games, seven points above the second-placed Nomads  from the same number of games. Silver Strikers are third with 36 points, with a game in hand.

Wanderers, who are the defending champions, have not beaten Bullets in a league match since 2012-six years to be precise.

Bullets are also the only unbeaten team in the top-flight league.

But the Nomads coach Bob Mpinganjira  believes, for the umpteenth time, that his team will turn it around.

“There has never been an easy Blantyre derby and we have played second fiddle for a while, but we believe this is our turn.

“We are prepared for the match and hopefully the match officials will take a firm line,” said Madeira.

On his part, Bullets coach Rogers Yasin said the pressure is on Nomads as defending champions.

“The pressure is on them as the reigning champions. As usual, the derby is unpredictable because there is always pride at stake,” he said.

However, Yasin said it is a crucial match for his team because should they win, then they could as well seal the title.

“If we win, then we will open a 10-point gap and we could be home and dry,” said Yasin.

The Nomads could miss their match maker Yamikani Chester who suffered an injury during national team training while Bullets will miss the services of striker Patrick Phiri who is serving two yellow cards.
