Coach Roger De Sa handed Ali Abondo full game on his debut against Jomo Cosmos in the ABSA Premiership midweek fixture at the Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday night.
Abondo penned a two year deal with the Urban Warriors in April as a free agent after being released by his former side Gor Mahia of Kenya.
The 26 year old quickly imposed himself in the game with no signs showing of him being a new comer in the South African league; he was trusted with taking most of the set pieces, and he delivered with great quality.
Linda Mntambo put cosmos ahead in the 13 minutes for 1-0 advantage at the interval; Prince Nxumalo leveled in the 49th minute with a sublime finish before grabbing a brace for 2-1 lead in the 86th minute. Mukamba grabbed a late equalizer to settle the game at 2-2 by full time.
Ajax seal the top ten with 34 points with two rounds to the end of the 2015/16 season; Cosmos are four points above the chop board.
Mamelodi Sundowns are the 2015/2016 ABSA Premiership Champions.
