The third round of the CAF Confederation Cup first leg match between Misr Lel-Makkasa Sporting Club and Al Ahli failed to produce goals and ended in a 0-0 draw on Friday evening at Stade Chedly-Zouiten in Tunisia.
Although the Egyptian side, Lel-Makkasa SSC went to Tunisia against the Libyan outfit, Ahli, aiming for an away win, they failed to get the win.
There were no goals in the first half and upon their return from the break, both sides couldn’t create goalscoring opportunities.
Following the 0-0 draw, coach Ehab Galal will now fight to ensure their Libyan opponent returns home empty handed when they host them in Fayoum, Egypt.
Meanwhile, Makkasa’s coach Jamal Abunawara will be left disappointed with the result as they have failed to to utilise their home advantage meaning they face an uphill battle in Egypt.
The return leg is set to be staged in Egypt on May 17 and both sides still have a chance of reaching the group stages.
