Defending Champions Al-Ahly club lost to its host Ghazl El-Mahalla 1-0 in a League match held on Monday evening.
Ghazl El-Mahalla’s lone goal was scored by Ashraf Sayed in the 35th minute with a powerful shot to secure victory.
The loss for Pitso Mosimane means Al-Ahly will remain on 37 points 4 behind League leaders Zamalek. However, Ahly have played two games less than their rivals.
Victory for Ghazl means they raise their points tally to 27 and are sitting 8th on the log.
Mosimane has four difficult fixtures coming up in a couple of weeks both in the league and the CAF Champions League.
The next league opponents for Al Ahly are Al Ittihad with the match billed for Thursday, 6 May, 2021.
Then they clash with bitter rivals Zamalek on Monday 10 May in what could be an early title decider.
Four days later on the 14th of May, Al Ahly host Sundowns in the CAF Champions League before traveling to face them a week later on 21 May.
