Jeffery Webb is no longer the President of the Confederations of North, Central America and Caribbean Football Association (CONCACAF) after he was expelled and removed from the post of President of the Association. He was provisionally dismissed along with his fellow official from CONCACAF Eduardo Li. This comes in the wake of the corruption scandal that has rocked the World governing body FIFA.
The two were among the eight officials indicted by the US in a 150$ Million scandal and are accused of serious corruption scandal within FIFA .
Vice President Alfredo Hawit of Honduras has been named t to replace the embattled Webb in an acting position.
In his remarks after his elevation,Hawit said “While we are profoundly dissapointed by the allegations made by authorities that again,CONCACAF has been the victim of fraud, we remain committed to CONCACAF’s goal to developing, promoting and managing the game of soccer.
