Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi named African coach of the year 2019

Algeria national team manager Djamel Belmadi  has been named 2019 African Manager of the Year while Salah was included in the CAF Team of the Year.

Belmadi led the Fennecs to their second Africa Cup of Nations when they lifted the trophy in 2019.

His side produced some impressive football and won all of their encounters until they reached the final to beat Senegal 1-0.

Additionally, Salah who failed to win his third consecutive African Player of the Year award to Mane was included in Africa’s best starting XI alongside the likes of Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, Hakim Ziyech and Serge Aurier.

Mazembe president Moïse Katumbi won the Club President of the Year award and Egypt were named the best Football Association of the year.

Achraf Hakimi won the African Youth Player of the Year Award and Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez’s stunning free-kick against Nigeria in the AFCON semi-finals won best goal of the year. Meanwhile, Algeria were named African Men’s Team of the Year and winger Youcef Belaïli was named African Interclubs Player of the Year.

Finally, Nigeria and FC Barcelona’s Asisat Oshoala won the Women’s Player of the Year award. While Cameroon won the African Women’s National Team of the Year award and South Africa manager Diseree Ellis, who led her side to the 2019 Women’s World Cup, was awarded best manager.
