Algeria officially qualified for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 on Monday evening, after the North African nation secured their fourth straight win in Group E with a hard-fought 1-0 victory away from home against Togo.
The results puts the two-time African champions on 12 points with just two games to go, with just Equatorial Guinea having a mathematical chance of finishing ahead of the Dessert Foxes.
With qualification officially secured, this means that Algeria will be participating in their seventh consecutive TotalEnergies CAF AFCON finals.
In total, this will be their 21st appearance at the continental finals as they attempt to lift what has been an elusive third title.
With the tournament heading to the northern part of the continent, it may serve as extra motivation for the former champions who lifted their two titles in North African soil.
Their first TotalEnergies CAF AFCON title was won on home soil in 1990, with their second in Egypt during the 2019 edition.
