Allan Wanga’s last minute goal for Al Mereikh in a CAF champions league match against Tanzanian champions Azam brought tears, joy and crazy scenes in Khartoum but this did not deter the soft spoken Kenyan striker who feels Al Mereikh has all it takes to play at the very top in Africa.
Wangamusica or King Wanga as he is fondly refered to by his friends and peers has taken Khartoum by storm and is making rave reviews in what has been a fantastic season so far since joining from Kenyan side AFC Leopards who remained depleted after his move.
Speaking exclusively to Soka25east the lethal striker did not mince his words as he shared his vision and hopes while in Sudan .
“I am very happy at Al Mereikh which is a very proffesional team.Their modus operadi is very impressive and our main aim is to be in the group stages of the prestigious CAF Champions League. We know its a herculean task but nothing is impossible as long as we play as a unit”
“It is never easy performing at the highest level but i thank God for the guidance ensuring i scored very instrumental goals for my team Al Mereikh but above all its important to note that its team work that has driven the team to success not individuals”Wanga told Soka25east.com
Proded to give his opinion on their next opponents Kabuscorp of Angola where Wanga once played for Petro Atletico ,the star striker was forthright
“Kabuscorp is a very organised side with very good players but we hope for good results as we have been training hard and though we respect them we cannot fear them at all”he added
Al Mereikh play Kabuscorp of Angola in the first round of matches where they hope to get good results despite losing in midweek in the Sudan premier league to Shandy.
