Kenya Premier League side Wazito FC has named Fred Ambani their new head coach and Salim Babu his assistant.
This comes weeks after British tactician Stewart Hall left due to COVID-19 complications.
Ambani served under Hall’s and this is his second stint at the helm of the club. He was in charge of the team at the National Super League and for a handful of matches during the terminated 2019/20 Kenyan Premier League campaign.
In a statement published on the clubs’ website, Ambani expressed his desire to get going again and lead the club successfully.
“I want to thank the club management for believing in me once again. Wazito is a team that is so dear to me and I am looking forward to getting started. My target is to work with everyone at the club to ensure that the team is successful,” he said.
Club management will hope that the latest pair in the dugout will bring the much sought after success after frequent turnovers of coaches in the recent past due to poor performances.
