By Admin,
Tanzania has been a great footballing nation that many Kenyans and players from the Kenyan premier league have endevour to seek greener pastures with many successful stories being registered.
The likes of Bernard Mwalala,Boniface Ambani,George Owino,Hillary Echesa,Shikanda just to mention afew have been great successful stories emanating from Tanzania.
However recently players like George Odhiambo Blackberry,Humphrey Mieno and lately Dan Sserunkuma who caused a buzz in Kenya have left in a huff claiming various reasons for their decision to quit some claiming Juju while some claiming unfairness.
However Soka25east.com sort to allay this fears by speaking to the players who made it big in Tanzania and to try and stop the Myth that players that have played in the Kenyan premier league cannot have success in Tanzania.
Bonface Ambani while speaking to Soka25east.com defended the Tanzania league saying it was one of the best in his exclusive comments
“I will be open first Kenyan players head to Tanzania thinking its a walk in the park. No. It isn’t you have to work.Secondly Kenyan players always think they are already Stars,so they take things for granted. Boss Its a different ball game”
“Thirdly Kenyan players always have a notion that Tanzania players bewitch them. Boss don’t believe is such crap. You believe it affects you. Just get on with your job. Assume all that’s happening across the fence”
“ Tanzania Starehe Kibao. Just do what had taken you to Tanzania. Be professional. Above all don’t underate and underestimate the strength of that league. Stay low and aim high. Don’t feel you are a star before you become one. Remember no one knows you were the best player in Kenya. All they want to see is your performance”
“ You just have to be far much better than their own. And that’s how i was. Banging in goals left right and center, and that’s why in two seasons with Yanga i scored more than 35 goals. And that’s why the mention of the name Bonface Ambani in Tanzanian Streets turns heads around. Remember as a player always stay cool. No sideshows. Always think professionally”Bonface Ambani told Soka25east.com exclusively
On his part another Yanga player George Owino aka Wise had this to say “but i succeed in Tanzania i played for both Simba and Yanga for two years each and I was always in the first 11”
Hillary Echesa had these to say “ To be an foreign player in Tanzania you must be extremely good than the local players,I was at simba for 2 seasons winning the Vodacom league is a steep hill…Tanzania players are more physical and too much pressure from the fans and media” Echesa told soka25east.com
