Harambee Stars coach Adel Amrouche has been handed a lengthy one year ban by Caf that took effect on the 20th July 2014 .
The decision to ban Amrouche who was also serving a two match ban was relayed to Football Kenya Federation (FKF) on Monday by CAF Secretary General Hicham El Amrani. In its verdict, the board found Amrouche guilty of breaching article 129 (c) of its rules, which provides for a 12-match ban to anyone spitting at a match official.
Adel Amrouche’s who was appointed in 2013 to replace Frenchman Henry Michel might see his reign as Kenya coach come to a screeching halt .Amrouche is accused at spitting at the forth official when Kenya played Comoros last month in an Afcon qualifer an offence that saw him sent off thereafter a two match ban was slapped on him.
CAF in its decision have also clearly stated that the decision will be forwarded to FIFA which may extend sanctions internationally meaning he might not be able to coach any team .
The decision to slap him with the ban can however be contested before CAF appeal board as the party intending to appeal shall announce this intention in in writing within three days of notification of the decision.
Amrouche temperamental tendancies have been witnessed on several occasions when he was also sent off when Nigeria played Kenya in Calabar in 2013 in a World Cup qualifier for bad mouthing the match officials.
