The Lions of Chinguetti hit back just before half-time, Sidi Amar leveling the scores with a beautiful solo goal.
The Angolans restored their lead 5 minutes after the restart, Gelson Dala completing his brace in spectacular fashion.
Gilberto made it three for the Sable Antelopes. His effort deflecting into the back of the net.
Koita pulled a goal back for Mauritania with a blinder of a shot, a definite contender of the season.
Mauritania pushed for the equalizer but it was not to come as Angola held in to go top of Group D.
