Numba Mumamba’s poor run as Zanaco Manager continued with a historic home defeat at the hands of Napsa Stars.
A day that began with hope for Numba Mumamba getting back to winning ways and a rapturous welcome from the Sunset fans as the team walked out before kick-off ended with Zanaco being beaten at home for the first time in 13 games.
Not even a trademark Numba Mumamba tactical switch could save him from the third loss of the campaign as his side produced a disjointed performance which underlined the scale of the job ahead of him – and the improvement needed in several areas. ZANACO need to relook at their 2018 objective once again.
Injuries, together with a lack of blending of off season arrivals, saw Numba give a different look at the club and with Isaac Chansa missing which could be seen as a disciplinary action after he walked straight to the dressing room after being substituted in a home game against Power Dynamos will be seen that there is something boiling at Sunset.
Chavda’s goal in the 85th minute cancelled out Luka Lungu’s opener for the Pensioneers , but some uncertain defending allowed Alex Mwamba to score at the death of that encounter.
That saw Napsa Stars , who enjoyed a famous victory at Sunset Stadium celebrate with their dance and apparently , that was the first win for the club in the 2018 season and ruined Numba’s day.
Elijah Chikwanda could not mince his words as he explained the victory to the media:
“It has been brilliant, it has been excellent the boys have put in the best and am sure you saw how we were improving in the last games and those were signs of winning this game.”
He is confident going forward
The games are still there and we have to just continue working hard so that we catch up with the losses that we have encountered in the last 10 games. Our next game is against Power Dynamos and we shall take it as it comes.”
