Thurgem is the most successful since 1991 with
Thurgem Secondary is the most successful school in the boys secondary ball games .
Thurgem from Kisumu County formerly Nyando District has won the title a record seven times since 1991 .Thurgem won the 2001-2006 editions, and also the 2008 editions played in Bondo.
Kisumu Day and Kisii School are the second most successful having won the title three a piece .Kisumu Day won the 2007 edition where they dethroned Thurgem who had won six times in a row but Thurgem came back the following year to win beating St Marks Morogonwa.
Kisumu Day also won in 2014 and 2015 while Kisii school won in 1993,1997 and 1998.
Gekomoni(2011,2012),Iterio (1994,1995),Kisii School (1997,1998) have all won the annual tournament twice each while defending champions Barding,Wera,Karabok,Matongo and St Marks Muokorogonwa have all won on one occasion each.
Thurgem has only lost once in the finals to Kisumu Day in 2007 in a match played in a pacvked Moi Stadium.Kisii School breaks the record of having failed to clinch the title in three consecutive finals played in 1994 and 1995 against Iterio and in 1996 against Matongo.They however bounced back in 1997 beating Matongo ion the final played at Maseno School

Kanga ,Lambwe,Pe Hill,moi Gesusu,Nyabondo, and Usenge have all reached the final but failed to win .Surprisingly Pe Hill has reached the finals on three occasions and have never won.
