Asante Kotoko bounced back after two straight defeats to beat Bechem United 3-1 in a Match Day 12 fixture of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League on Friday.
Goals by Martin Antwi, Augustine Okrah and Imoro Ibrahim were enough to hand the Porcupine Warriors all three points against the Hunters at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Asante Kotoko are playing their Home games at the Nation’s Wembley because the Baba Yara Sports Stadium has been closed down for a facelift for the Ghana’s 63rd Anniversary Celebrations.
The homeside got off proceedings in strong fashion but couldn’t fetch the opener.
On 20 minute, Hafiz Konkoni Wontah opened the scoring for the awayside.
Asante Kotoko were awarded a penalty on 31 minute by referee Kennedy Pady, however, he rescinded his decision after consulting with his assistant.
Martin Antwi hit back for the Porcupine Warriors when he connected Imoro Ibrahim’s cross after goalkeeper Prince Asempa failed to parry the ball away on 35th minute.
Maxwell Konadu’s men went 2-1 ahead via Augustine Okrah on the stroke of halftime.
Ibrahim Imoro made it 3-1 for Asante Kotoko with a delicious freekick 10 minutes into the second half.
Bechem United misery was compounded when Charles Amponsah was shown a red card for a bad tackle (Two yellow cards).
Goalie, Kwame Baah for pulled up a one-handed save to stop Prince Adu Kwabena’s header towards the near post in the 70th minute.
The homeside, who were out of gas in the latter stages of the game, kept it cool and calm to snatch victory.
Ibrahim Imoro was named Nasco Man-Of-The-Match for his impressive showing.
Next up for Asante Kotoko is a trip to Karela United while Bechem United return Home to square off with Dreams FC in Match Day 13 fixtures scheduled for March 6-9, 2020.
