Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko have relieved Steven Polack of his duties as head coach of the club.
The decision was arrived at after a National Executive Committee meeting held on Friday decided to fire the Englishman after the side was eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup by CARA Club of Congo.
A statement later released by club’s media officer Obed Acheampong confirmed the new development stating that Polack’s termination takes immediate effect.
“The management of Asante Kotoko S.C has relieved Coach Steven Polack as Head Coach of the club effective immediately,”the statement reads.
“We wish him well in his future endeavor and we assure our teeming fans of our continuous dedication to ensuring the club consolidate gains while charting new fruitful courses.”
Polack joined the Porcupine Warriors after ten matches in the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League season after Croatian trainer Zdravko Lugarosic was booted on grounds of poor results.
The Ghana Premier League is set to start on the weekend of February 24 and 25 and the FA Cup Champions will seek to find a new coach as soon as possible.
