Nigeria women’s senior national team captain Asisat Oshoala has been named in the Africa Forbes 30 Under-30 for “phenomenal soccer talent and grooming the next generation of African female footballers”.
Forbes 30 under 30 is a list published annually by Forbes magazine to recognize exceptional success of individuals under this age bracket.
The 25 year old forward who currently play for FC Barcelona women in the Liga Iberdrola, has been in a rich vein of form since she joined from Chinese side Dalian Quanjian last February on loan before she penned a three year permanent deal.
She has netted 20 goals and booked one assist in 19 league appearances for the Blaugranes making her one of the contenders for the golden boot.
She helped Barça win an historic first Spanish SuperCopa at, a game the league leaders won 10-1, with a brace to her name.
Last season, she became the first female African footballer to score in a Women’s Champions League final against serial winners Olympique Lyon.
In January, she was fetted for a record equalling fourth time as the Africa female footballer of the year 2019.
