The Uganda Premier League is one if not the most low paying football league in the CECAFA region despite the Uganda being the best ranked football nation in the region according to the latest FIFA rankings.
Soka25east.com carried out a research on each club in the AUPL to find out an average salary they give to their players.
Note. The figures are not actual but rather estimated and does not include the players match bonuses and allowances.
KCCA FC,
The league defending champions are the most paying club in Uganda with the least paid player getting an average salary of six hundred thousand Shillings every month.
Sports Club Villa,
The league record champions offer an average monthly salary of at least Two hundred fifty thousand to the least paid player.
URA FC,
The tax collectors are one of the best paying clubs in Uganda alongside KCCA FC and Vipers SC. It’s believed that at least their average monthly salary of the least paid player is five hundred thousand.
Onduparaka FC,
The Arua boys have been a real revolution in Uganda’s top flight football league. Under Betway sponsorship, it’s believed that an average monthly salary of their least paid player is two hundred thousand Shillings per month.
Vipers SC,
The best individual owned paying club in the country. At Vipers according to our research, the average monthly salary of a least paid player is four hundred thousand shillings. Recently club owner Lawrence Mulindwa increased each players monthly by one hundred fifty thousand shillings.
Proline FC,
At Proline FC, the average monthly salary of the least paid player is two hundred fifty thousand shillings.
Bright Stars FC,
The Lato milk sponsored side got some financial set back by the end of last season which made top share holder Ronnie sale off most shares at the club. Our research indicates that at least an average monthly salary of one hundred fifty thousand is earned by the least paid player.
Soana FC,
Owned by Smart Obedi, the least paid player at the club receives a minimum salary of two hundred thousand shillings.
Express FC,
At the DSTV sponsored side, the least paid player is assured of a monthly salary of three hundred thousand shillings.
Police FC,
A very much changed side since Afande Kasingye got involved. Player’s welfare and wages increased and currently at least the least paid player pockets monthly salary of three hundred fifty thousand shillings.
Sadolin Paints,
The club doesn’t offer sign on fees to it’s players but they are 100% assured off monthly salary. The least paid player walks away with two hundred thousand shillings per month.
The Saints FC,
The minimum monthy salary of the least paid player is two hundred thousand shillings.
Lweza FC,
One of the sides with the most experienced players in the league, it’s believed that at least the least paid player walks away with monthly salary of two hundred thousand shillings.
Bul FC,
The best paying Jinja based side, the least paid player pockets three hundred fifty thousand shillings monthly.
Kirinya Jinja S’S,
The least paid player is assured of a monthly salary of two hundred thousand shillings monthly salary.
JMC Hippos,
Another side that recently suffered some financial set back as the Municipal Council in Jinja decreased their financial support to the club a big reason to it’s poor performance. The least paid player walks home with one hundred fifty thousand shillings as monthly salary.
