Kenya national team striker John Avire has joined Egyptian Premier League side Tanta on a permanent basis.
Tanta returned to Egypt’s top tier after finishing on top of their group in the Egyptian second division.
They were relegated last season after finishing second to last along with Al Nasr and Al Raja.
Now in an effort to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season, Tanta have signed Kenyan forward John Avire from Sofapaka FC.
The 22-year-old was included in Kenya’s 2019 African Cup of Nations squad and made two appearances. Including two appearances off the bench, in their 3-2 win over Tanzania and a 3-0 defeat to Senegal.
