Zimbabwe Mighty Warriors have been knocked out of the 2016 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations after losing 2-0 to hosts Cameroon in the Group A match played in Younde.
A brace from Michelle Akaba handed Cameroon victory ending Zimbabwe dreams at the Omnisport Stadium.
Zimbabwe got off to a bad start conceeding a goal right in the first minute from Akaba harmless shot that slipped from the hands of Warriors keeper.
Zimbabwe recovered and took control of the game wasting several open chances when in front of the goal.
At the resumption Zimbabwe launched an attack and could have equalized in the 48th minute with Makoto shot off target.
Two minutes later Lionesses were at it again with highly experienced Eunganamout launching an attack from the right that caught opponent defence napping sending well caculated pass to Michelle Akaba who perfectly completed a brace.
Zimbabwean reacted quickly but their fate was already sealed making them finish at the bottom of Group A with one point from draw aganist South Africa in their first match.
