Striker Prince Dube, led Azam FC to a 1-0 victory in an international friendly against Kabwe Warriors on Sunday afternoon at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Ndola, Zambia.
Azam are in Zambia to play a series of International friendlies as part of the preparations for the New Season.
Dube, who came on in the 55th minute to replace Rodgers Kola, spent needed two minutes to score Azam FC’s only goal with a header from midfielder Frank Domayo ‘Salt’s well executed set piece.
The goal puts the striker back on track with his goal-scoring prowess last season, making him Azam FC’s top scorer after netting 17 times in all competitions.
In contrast to the previous game against the Red Arrows, game which saw the team lose by 4 goals, Azam FC’s squad showed significant changes in the game, with the players’ bodies seemingly starting to open up slowly after a speed and fitness training program.
Azam FC Head Coach, George Lwandamina, has made it clear that he is still working on a strong training program for his players, to prepare them well for the season.
Immediately after the second international friendly, Azam FC will return to action on September 03 this year to play Zambian Premier League and FA Cup champions Zesco United.
The match is expected to conclude Azam FC’s training camp in Zambia.
