Azam FC officials have exposed the factors that contributed to the sacking of their Cameroonian coach Joseph Omog and his Kenyan assistant coach Ibrahim Shikanda.
Azam FC General Secretary, Idrissa Nassor told Soka25east.com that the board of the team reached this decision after Omog violated contractual requirements after the team was eliminated from the CAF Champions League Championship Africa by Al Mereikh of Sudan.
“Azam had an agreement with coach Omog and his assistant with the the hope that they would perform well in the prestigious Caf champions League but this was not the case after they were eliminated despite having ensured that the technical bench had everything they required for the task ahead”
“The teams performance in International matches has not been impressive as we played below par when we participated in the Mapinduzi cup in Zanzibar and now that we have been eliminated we had no option but to clean house”Nassor added.
Omog is the third coach to leave Azam in under 2 season after the sacking of Boris Bunjak and Stewart Hall who left the team.
Omog who helped Azam to the Vodacom Tanzanian premier league title last season has been replaced by Ugandan George “Best” Nsimbe in an interim capacity.
