Azam FC have completed a deal for former Nkana and Kabwe Warriors striker Idris Mbombo from Egyptian Club El Gouna.
Mbombo has signed a two year deal with the Tanzanian club. The club announced the signing on their social media platforms.
“Azam FC we are pleased to inform you that we have entered into a two-year contract with the international striker of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Idris Mbombo, whom we bought from El Gouna of Egypt,” read the statement.
Mbombo signed the contract in the presence of the Chief Executive Officer, Abdulkarim Amin ‘Popat’, which will run upto 2023.
The striker comes with a huge reputation having successfully played for Nkana, Zesco United, Kabwe Warriors (all in Zambia).
Mbombo will definitely add strength to Azam’s attacking line up as the team prepares for the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.
Mbombo becomes Azam’s fifth signing in this window following the capture of three stars from Zambia, Charles Zulu, Paul Katema, striker Rodgers Kola and native left-back Edward Manyama.
