Azam FC maintain their 100 percent start to the campaign in the Vodacom Mainland Tanzanian Premier League with a hard fought 1-0 victory away to Tanzania Prisons on Saturday.
The match was evenly contested for most parts of the 90 minutes with the scores tied at 0-0 going into the halftime break.
The match seemed to be heading for a goalless result. Azam eventually broke the deadlock in the 90th minute thanks to a goal from Prince Dube.
The win means Azam go at the top of the table on 12 points and are unbeaten in four matches.
In another notable result, Tanzania Police thrashed Dodoma 3-0, with two goals coming from Marcel Kaheza while the other was scored by Tariq Seif.
The Tanzanian League has set a precedent for the rest of the continent being the first to allow fans back into the stadium following the outbreak of Covid-19.
