Tanzania pay Television giants Azam TV has partnered with Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) in a five year lucrative league sponsorship deal worth USD 2.35 million.
The deal signed on Monday, August 24 at the FA headquarters in Remera Kigali makes Azam TV the official broadcast partner of the league and grants them the league naming rights.
The league will now be known as “Azam Rwanda Premier League”
FERWAFA president Vincent Nzimwita expressed his excitement at the ground breaking development, a first in the history of the league.
“We are exited after reaching an agreement with Azam TV to sponsor Rwandan League. We believe that their support will leave an improvement to the welfare of our clubs thus improving the standard of the game.” Nzimwita said.
Azam Media Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rhys Torrington said they were happy to enter into the relationship with Rwandan football.
“This is an important day in the history of Rwanda’s football. We are committed to supporting football development in this country,” Rhys said.
Azam TV already have a strong presence in this region, with Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi premier leagues and Kenya’s second tier league under their belt.
