The Azam Ugandan Premier league enters the last day today with eight matches being played across different venues .The Live television coverage will however be at Buikwe approximately 55 kilometers by road East of the capital Kampala when Champions Vipers SC takes on BUL FC.
The Uganda Premier League board through their CEO Bainamaani Bernard announced that all the matches will kick off simultaneously at 4 pm to avoid match fixing considering four teams are still in the relegation puzzle.”This is to inform you that all the UPL matches for Tuesday 19th May 2015 will kick off at 4:00 pm at all venues, this communication takes precedence over any other earlier communication from the secretariat” The statement read in parts.
The four teams fighting for relegation are Soana, Kira Young, Simba and Lweza. One of them will join already relegated Entebbe FC and Rwenshema in the FUFA big league next season.
Kira Young will be welcoming fellow relegation candidate Simba at Namboole while Lweza FC will travel to Lugogo to meet KCCA FC.Soana will be at Kavumba RC to square it out with Police FC.
The match between already relegated Rwenshema against Entebbe FC at the Nakivubo stadium will lack flavor and will be of less importance as the two teams would be playing for pride.
Other matches will see Bright Stars take on SC Villa in Matugga while Express play at home to URA at the Wankulkuku stadium.Sadolin paints will welcome SC Victoria University at Kakinde Stadium and not Bugembe as earlier stated.
Meanwhile, preparations for celebrations by Vipers are at advanced stage with the Clubs Director Kyobe Harunah stating that the celebrations will kick off as early as 9am today when the invited guests will start arriving for the important milestone in their history.
Those to grace the occasion are Ugandan Vice President, Hon Kiwanuka Sekandi, Honarary FUFA President and Vipers Club patron Lawrence Mulindwa, FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo and Minister of State for Sports Hon Charles Bakka Bulindi among other Dignitaries.
