Bandari new signings confident of winning the Kenyan Premier League

Kenya’s CAF Confederations cup representatives Bandari fc are upbeat ahead of the upcoming Dstv  Super Cup tie against League champions Gor Mahia, which will be played next  weekend in Mombasa.

The coastal based side held their second friendly match since arriving in Nairobi early this week, playing to a 2-2 all draw with top flight league returnees Rangers fc at Camp Toyoyo Stadium .

Joseph Mbuki and Salim Abdalla scored for Rangers, While Edwin Lavatsa and Antony Kimani scored for Bandari.

On Friday the team won 1-0 against Wazito Fc.After being in the club for the last three weeks Bandari’s new acquisition Edwin Lavatsa has expressed optimism, that the club will clinch the league trophy for the first time.

“I am ready to give my all and I know that we have what it takes to win the trophy this year this season as we have many good players who are up to the task” Lavatsa told Soka25east.com

Lavatsa is not lonely in the attacking line with Dan Sserunkuma who is making his way back to the Sportpesa sponsord  Kenya premier league echoing the same sentiments of a glorious season.

“Am happy to be back, I know it is not going to be smooth but am confident and I want to win and score more goals for my new team.It is a challenge i am ready to embrace as we start the league playing my former club Gor Mahia next week in the Super Cup”Sserunkuma told Soka25east.com

On the 6th of February Sserunkuma will be facing off with his former employer Gor Mahia in the league opener.

Bandari  signed  six new players in the offseason including – Dani Sserunkuma, Edwin Lavatsa, Felly Mulumba, Edwin
Wafula, Meshack Karani and Bernard Mang’oli

CAF Confederations Cup

After the Super Cup game, Bandari will leave the country on the 11th of February for Congo where they will play St Elloi Lupopo in the CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round.

This will not be the first time the former Harambee stars tactician Twahir Muhidin will be participating in the continental cup. In 1999 Muhidin guided Utalii Fc before they were eliminated in the second round by Tunisian side Etoile Du Sahel.

The same team Eliminated Oserian fc at the same stage when Twahir was at the helm of the team.The Bandari tactician has hailed their Caf Confederations cup opponents, saying that the match is not going to be easy but they will make it to the next round.

“Elloi Lupopo is not an easy team, they are in the same league with the likes of TP Mazembe and I am sure they will give us a fight. But all the same my team is ready for all the encounters” Twahir told Soka25east.com

Bandari is set to play their last friendly  game tomorrow when they travel to the Thika municipal stadium to play against the host.
