Lesotho premier league side  Bantu FC have been crowned the 2016/2017 champions of the Lesotho Vodacom Premier league after beating Kick4Life FC 3:0 in the leagues closing fixture.

The win saw Bantu bring to an end the dominance of arch rivals Lioli FC who were two points behind and had won  the title from back-to-back over the last two seasons.

Bantu FC manager, former Bafana Bafana international James Madidilane expressed his delight in leading the club to winning the league in his first season with the club.

“I’m very happy to have led the team to such an important trophy in my first year working in the country, it is a sign that we have made a giant step in the right direction,I think my success goes down to the fact that I was well received at the club and was able to hit the ground running”.

The former Bloemfontein defender credited the milestone, to hard work from the players, management, technical team and the club supporters.

“We worked hard all the season as a team and credit goes to the players, management and supporters who have been with us throughout, I was very lucky to work with a technical team of supportive and understanding colleagues who made me feel welcome from the first day”.

Bantu last won the league title during the 2013/14 season.
