Bantu Rovers 1-0 Triangle United
Zimbabwe Premier Soccer league long weekend fixtures this came to a close this monday afternoon, with Bantu Rovers bringing the bad start after promotion to top flight foot to a stop. Posting their first win of the season after two consecutive losses to Platinum FC 3-2 in week two and 5-0 to fellow Bulawayo side Chicken Inn FC.
The two teams had last met in 2014 with the Chiredzi based side Triangle United beating Bantu Rovers 3-2 in the first encounter and the return game ending in a 1all draw.
Bantu Rovers came into this match needing a win to end the consecutive losses since the opening day of season. For greater part of the game it looked as though that wish was never going to happen. A resolute Sugar Plantation boys kept them at bay.
But Bukhosi Sibanda had rather different ideas as the match progressed, with solitary 80th minute strike that was enough to hand Bulawayo side Bantu Rovers the win. That should reignite their faithfuls for something to look for in the upcoming games.
Bantu from being bottom of the league table before the game have leapfrogged five teams which also includes their afternoon opponents Triangle United to 12th position.
