President Elly Kalekwa has decided to repay the loyalty of veteran John Baraza at the club with an assistant coach job.The veteran will now deputise David Ouma in 2016 season after hanging boots
The appointement of John Baraza comes hours after his retirement from football.He is expected to bring with him much experience knowledge and quality carry form his playing days and hope that he will improve the club fortune having lost most of their experience players during the current transfer.
The former Harambee Stars striker called it time on Wednesdy when he announced his retirement on his Facebook account.
Baraza said, “I want to announce that I am quitting playing the game that I loved most. I have enjoyed my time playing football and will want to pave way for upcoming youngsters to also have a chance in taking the field.
“I sincerely want to thank all those who have been behind me during my playing time. I wish to thank coaches who made it possible for me to play in the top league. Most importantly, I want to thank coach Twahir Muhiddin for giving me the chance to feature for Harambee Stars.”
Baraza won the Golden Boot on three occasions and apart from Sofapaka, he locally played for Nzoia Sugar, Chemelil Sugar and Oserian. He also featured for Sweden side IF Sylvia, Tanzania’s Yanga, PDRM Polis of Malaysia.
