Ageless poacher John Baraza rescued a point for Sofapaka in the extra minutes of the second half in a KPL midweek match against KCB staged at the Machakos stadium on Wednesday .The draw ensure Batoto ba Mungu maintain their unbeaten home record this season.
KCB who badly needed a win to steady their fast sinking ship started the match more purposefully and in the 14th minute Victor Majid pin point pass landed Ronald Musana’s way and he never hesitated to coolly slot the ball home for the opener; the Bankers defended the slim lead well into the breather.
Coach Sam Timbe responded in the second half by making three quick substitutions, bringing on Maurice Odipo for Heritier Luvualu and Enoch Agwanda for Dancan Kago in the 46th minute before replacing Batambuze Shafik with Ellie Asieche in the 59th minute, the fresh legs helped pile pressure on KCB that had decided to sit back a soak in pressure and only hit their opponents on the counter.
Paul Kiongera made his debut for the Bankers after a long layoff due to injury coming on for Raymond Murugi in the 65th minute.
In the 91st minute vintage John Baraza nodded in Enoch Agwanda’s cross to deny KCB the three points and the first away win of the season.
