Baroka FC coach Wedson Nyirenda insists he had no complaints about his side’s display in the defeat to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday night.
The defeat is Bakgaga Ba Ga Mphahlele’s second in succession following last Sunday’s 2-1 set back at home to Highlands Park.
Nyirenda, who famously donned the Amakhosi colours in his playing days, says missing chances against a side like Chiefs always ‘keep them in the game’.
“Congratulations to Kaizer Chiefs. They got one chance and took it. We had five in the first half and did not take them,” Nyirenda told SuperSport TV.
“So a team like Chiefs you miss chances like that in the first half then you’ll keep them in the game.”
Baroka came close to stealing a point in the final minute but were denied by the woodwork, with Nyirenda pleased with the overall effort from his boys.
“That’s why I’m saying it wasn’t our day because we did all we could but it wasn’t coming. We broke the lines, went one-on-one with the goalkeeper two or three times but we could not put the ball behind and that’s how football is.
“I think I have no complaints the boys accounted for themselves very well. We took the game to Kaizer Chiefs and I think it just wasn’t our day..
