The battle lines at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday are crystal clear. Tusker must overturn a 2-0 goal deficit to stand a chance of eliminating Gor Mahia while Muhoroni Youth and Ulinzi Stars are locked 0-0 as they fight for a place in the finals.

Muhoroni Youth vs Ulinzi Stars (Nyayo Stadium, 2pm)

This match-up is finely balanced at 0-0.

Muhoroni are chasing their first ever Top 0 Knockout final while perennial campaigners Ulinzi will very much be in familiar territory.

Muhoroni though are a weakened side as key players Faruk Shikalo and Moses Arita have been ruled out of the clash.

Shikalo is suspended for accumulating two yellow cards meaning that the team’s second choice goalkeeper Timothy Igweta will get a chance to stand between the posts, while Arita is serving a one match ban for violating the league’s Fair Play code.

That, and history makes Ulinzi the favourites to go through.

Gor Mahia vs Tusker (Nyayo Stadium, 4.15pm)

Gor Mahia will be looking to finish the job against Tusker and advance to a consecutive final.

A 2-0 deficit incurred in the first leg by the brewers looks too big to recover from. Who can put three goals past Gor without reply? Who?

Want-away midfielder Humphrey Mieno remains the brewer’s highest rated player and he is a sure starter in Paul Nkata’s midfield.

Khalid Aucho, who missed the first leg action due to personal commitment, is back in the country and is likely to take back his place in the holding midfield role for Gor as Ernest Wendo returns to the bench.

The match has all the hallmarks of a bruiser with Gor firmly on the driving seat.
