This elections will be very different from the past FIFA Council elections in Africa with the  removal of languages in voting for FIFA Council members was a resolution from the most recent 46th CAF General Assembly in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The removal of language brings  an element of fairness and also increasing the level of competition  from the nominations.Previously The Arab/Luso-Spanish speaking region has strong contendors like Abou Rida and Faouzi Lekjaa who will be seeking a second term.

In the Women’s position we have three  ladies of substance, current FIFA Council member  Isha Johansen the Sierra Leone FA President will be contesting against the former representative from the FIFA Council, Lydia Nsekera.  And CAF Vice President Kanizat Ibrahim  from Comoros.

Johansen will be hoping to retain her seat against  Nsekera who also once served as Burundi FA President from 2004 until 2013 and the new African darling Kanizat.
