Benin national team suffered a lone goal defeat to Niger in Friday’s friendly in Niamey.
Hainikoye Soumana goal in the 60th minute was enough to give the Menas victory over their West Africans neighbours in a match that both nations played as part of preparations for the upcoming CHAN qualifiers later this month.
The defeat was coach Tchomogo’s second in six matches after going 2-0 aganist Egypt in a match played on 20th April 2017.
In an interview with Benin Television immediately after the match,Benin national team captain Seybou Mama blamed on fatigue for the loss.
“We played under fatigue since we did not know the climatic conditions of Niamey,”said Mama.
Niger also played with a local based stars team which they are expected to field in a “return” friendly match slated to be played on Sunday at the same venue.
