Zimbabwean international and Mamelodi Sundowns star player Khama Billiat could miss the afcon qualifier against Liberia this Sunday.
Billiat is recuperating from an injury at his base in Pretoria, South Africa and his parent club are reluctant to release him to join the rest of team that will resume camp this Monday in readiness for the Sunday match.
Billiat was absent as Sundowns went down 2-1 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Caf Champions League to Tunisian side Esperance.
While Billiat is almost cert to miss out, Belgium based talisman Knowledge Musona gave a major boast to the team when he jetted into the country. He will join the camp this Monday.
Another player expected in is Supersport United defender Onismo Bhasera who was out in DRC with his club. They drew 2all with the hosts TP Mazembe in Caf Confederation.
But its the Billiat saga that could raise eyebrows in battle for club and country. According to Fifa rules governing fifa sanctioned matches, The Brazilians are obliged to release the player so that medical doctors for the Warriors can make their own assessment.
Unless documentation can provided that he is unable to fly to Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe meets Liberia at the National Sports Stadium to kick start the AFCON 2019 qualifiers. In the same group there is Congo Democratic Republic and Congo.
