Yannick Bolasie has been ruled out of the of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations with DR Congo after suffering knee ligament damage in Everton’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Goodison Park on Sunday 4 December 2016.

Scans revealed that Bolasie suffered serious knee damage and will undergo surgery in the next few days.

Bolasie has since been also ruled out for the rest of the season in the English Premier League.

The quick and skillful winger joined Everton from Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window for £25 million pounds featuring for the Toffees in every game.

DR Congo begin their bid for glory in the AFCON which starts in Gabon in January 2017.
