Gor Mahia have roped in Boniface (Bonny) Omondi from Nzoia Sugar F.C on a three-year deal, the player has confirmed.
Bonny, a graduate of the Kisumu Youth Olympics and formerly of the National Super League side Agro Chemical F.C becomes the second signing for K’Ogalo during the midseason transfer window.
The 15-time Kenyan champions snapped up defender Joachim Oluoch also from Nzoia last week.
Bonny’s big move to the country’s most celebrated club is no surprise. He is among the standout performers of the first leg of the Kenyan Premier League.
To this end, he boasts four goals; a decent scoring record for a first timer in the Kenyan topflight.
Bonny proved a handful when Nzoia faced Gor at the Mumias Complex in the KPL first leg. His menacing runs resulted in a penalty when Harun Shakava brought him down in the forbidden area.
He will be expected to boost Gor’s struggling forward line, which boasts Rwandan duo of Meddie Kagere, Jacques Tuyisenge and Timothy Otieno.
At Gor, Bonny will also reunite with his former teammate at Kisumu Olympics and Agro, Wellington Ochieng – who joined K’Ogalo last year from Muhoroni Youth.
