Botswana Football Federation has cancelled an International friendly against Harambee Stars scheduled for next week in Nairobi Soka25east.com can exclusively reveal.
The Federation President Tebogo Sebego wrote to Football Kenya Federation who had requested for the friendly informing them of the latest development citing amongst many reasons security in Kenya.
FKF had written to Botswana requesting for the friendly to be played in Nairobi ahead of departure to Guinea Bissau.The Zebras were to camp in Kenya enroute to Comoros where they will play their 2017 Africa Cup of nations qualifer.
The news comes as a blow to Harambee Stars who embarked on their residential training on Monday in Nairobi just days after declining a request by Uganda Cranes to play a friendly in Kisumu citing financial difficulties.
Harambee Stars play Guinea Bissau March 23 before the return leg to be played in Nairobi days later.
