Twelve goals were scored in the first four matches of the Botswana BTC Premiership 2016/17 campaign that took place across the country on weekend.
Two teams,Orapa United and Township Rollers, accounted for seven of the goals; scoring four and three apiece.
Orapa United 4 -1 Miscellaneous
In mining town of Orapa, Orapa United were ruthless against their rivals, Misscellaneous as the Cocah Rodolfo Sapata tutored side cruised to a 4-1 win.
Orapa United’s Lemogang Maswena netted the first goal of the season making it 1-0 few minutes into the encounter.
Tendai Nyumasi, Khumoetsile Kufigwa, Zebron Njobvu also scored as Orapa emerged 4-1 winners, while Modley Njeleza netted for Miscellaneous.
Township Rollers 3- 0 Nico United
Mapalastina started title defence in a high note taking the lead against Majombolo at half-time courtesy of Terrance Mandaza’s goal.
The Zimbabwean forward grabbed his brace with 20 minutes left on the clock, while Lemponye Tshireletso sealed Rollers’ 3-0 win in the 80th minute.
Gaborone United 2- 0 Police
In Molepolole, Gaborone United took an ealy half time lead thanks to Karabo Phiri’s goal at the stroke of first half.
Botswana international Hendrick Moyo, who walked away with the Man of the Match accolade, sealed GU’s 2-0 victory in the 61st minute.
Mochudi Centre Chiefs 1-1 Extension Gunners
Last season’s league runners-up Chiefs were held in a one all draw at National stadium Gaborone.
Chiefs were leading 1-0 during the half-time break thanks to veteran attacking midfielder Dirang Moloi’s goal.
However, full-back Otlantshekela Mooketsi restored parity in stoppage time for Gunners.
