Counsellors from Northern Province Football Association were brawled by their General Secretary, Michael Chimponda Bwalya’s submittion of the motion to remove Football Association of Zambia President, Andrew Kamanga from office.

In a circular, dated 28th February 2017, Chimponda submitted a motion for the upcoming Annual General meeting on 25th March 2017.

Details of the circular are that, in accordance of article 26.8 (X) of the Football Association of Zambia Constitution, the General Secretary of NOPAFA wishes to submit for the inclusion of the item on the agenda to be discussed at the upcoming AGM.

“We submit the removal of FAZ President Andrew Ndanga Kamanga from office in accordance with article 28.2 (I) and (ii)”, says the circular.

Mwansa Kapyanga, a football administrator from Kasama Youth Academy intimated to soka25east.com that NOPAFA Counsellors were outraged and disowned Chimponda’ statement.

“Counselors from The province attacked and disowned his statements and letter”, said Kapyanga.

He added “Take note that the impeachment calls are for the Emergency Council meeting as the Annual General meeting has a Constitutional agenda”.

Chimponda has ignorantly accused FAZ President, Andrew Kamanga of wanting to exclude lower tier clubs from voting after FIFA instructed the reduction of the electoral college.

The NOPAFA General Secretary says, according to a hint from a FIFA represantative, it was Kamanga who approached the Football world governing body to impose the reduction of the electoral college number of the Zambian FA.

Article 28.2 (i) and (ii) of the Football Association of Zambia Consititution

The President can be removed in office if:

(i) Commits any violation of the constitution or any gross misconduct.

(ii) Fails to properly administer FAZ; provided that in both (i) and (ii) above, the decision to remove the President shall be by two-thirds majority of the members of FAZ at a Special Council meeting called for the purpose of the same subsection above.
